Could UMPCs Replace Textbooks?

Mainstream news sources are reporting that Bill Gates envisions tablet PCs and/or UMPCs replacing textbooks in classrooms. I think the kids would agree with Bill. A lot of kids are drawn to the UMPC form factor as something that's familiar and comfortable for them to use. The TabletPC form factor was just too fragile for kids to toss around. With a tougher shell and smaller form factor, the UMPC is very similar to a Sony PSP, but far more useful. I think if the price were right it just might find it's way into the backpacks of the future.
