I've put up a gallery of hi-res images of the VIA NanoBook Ultra Mobile Device Reference Design, I'm looking forward to getting my hands on the NanoBook machine and shooting some videos with it. My favorite part about the device is the MobilityPLUS modules. They are USB based so any existing USB device that can fit into that form factor can be converted into a MobilityPLUS module relatively easily: GPS, VOIP handset, DVB Tuner, 3G internet module, webcam, etc.

All VIA systems need to do is kick out the clock and add something that seems more reasonable like an integrated WWAN antenna or/and a wifi range extender in that space, plus a solid state hard drive. Those can save an hour of energy and store more memory in a smaller package. That would make a really nice computer... :grin :grin :grin

The VIA Nanobook will also need a pointer stick if people DO NOT want to use that puny touchpad... :grin

Packard Bell has picked this design up for release in Europe in mid to late August. I'm not entirely sure what their price point is going to be, but VIA has suggested $600 USD as a target price for devices based off this design.
