Hi, my name is Charles, I love to check out the details of well-designed machines – whether it's the circuitry of a microchip or the recoil energy of an MP5 when firing short bursts from the shoulder : )

I'll be doing a series of posts in which I'll focus on EVERY hardware feature of the new VIA NanoBook Reference Design. Packard Bell plans to distribute its EasyNote XS (based on the VIA NanoBook Reference Design) across Europe in August 2007, and VIA's US partner and its launching plans will be announced soon.

I see our point man, Bjorn Stromberg, also posted a video Wednesday of the VIA NanoBook and the PB EasyNote XS, so I thought it’s about time we took a microscopic look (with "military precision", ahem-ahem) at all the NanoBook's features, starting with the hardware. I'll be calling the series "Checkpoint Charlie dreams of the VIA NanoBook". It starts in the next post.
