It seems UMPC mania is spreading around the globe, this time in the Phillipines. I found this great Samsung Q1B review over on PinoyPC.net, it's interesting to read about how different people in different countries look at the UMPC platform and how they expect to use the devices.
Louie put his Q1B through the paces, even loading up Quake 3 for a little gaming. Most interesting of all was his take on battery life:
After using the Q1b for a few days, I was impressed by how silent it is and how it doesn't get hot to the touch. It's light enough to be used on your lap or while you're lying down on your bed or couch. Battery life is pretty impressive as well. I charged the unit to 100% power then set the power options to normal use (mid brightness settings) and played DivX videos non-stop. The unit kept on playing for 3 hours and 40 minutes before it went into hibernate mode. Standby mode is good as well as it only went down 6% after 12 hours straight of standby mode. If the figures hold up, you can leave it on standby for a whole week and you'll still have roughly an hour's worth of use left.
The article is pretty in-depth so if you're looking for more details about the Samsung Q1B, you'll find plenty of info there, have a look.
