There were so many great entries on the Crazy NanoBook Modules Contest, it was hard to pick one person to win the USB rocket launcher. Luckily, only a few people actually registered on the site or provided their e-mail address to me which has helped me to narrow down the field considerably. First, let's take a look at a few of the images that got submitted.

Some really crazy module ideas out there. Here's a quick list:

  • BlueTooth enabled Swiss Army knife, with additional Flash storage, flashlight, and fingerprint reader
  • BlueTooth remote control
  • BlueTooth Headset with charger
  • High quality speakers
  • USB hub
  • Business card holder
  • A Taser
  • PDA running WM5
  • Wireless Mouse
  • System vitals monitor
  • Webcam & Fingerprint reader
  • MP3 Player dock
  • Miniature tablet / notepad

I'd like to thank everyone for participating. After the jump, see who gets the prize!

I really like the SideShow remote that David Zakar sent in. It's definitely a feasible idea and the coolest part about it is that it would be programmable to really add a lot of functionality to the NanoBook. Congratulations David, you win the USB Rocket Launcher & a 1GB memory stick!

And because I'm in such a great mood, I'm going to send a 1GB memory stick to everyone who submitted an entry. Icurafu and Gerardo Antonio Garza Casso, you guys didn't provide an e-mail address, if you can send an email to me This email address is being protected from spam bots, you need Javascript enabled to view it with your address I can send you your prize. Everybody else, look for an e-mail from me next week asking for your shipping address.

Thanks again for the submissions and I hope to have another contest next month.

I suck at Photoshopping, but if VIA would actually release that module, I'd be a hundred times more likely to buy a Nanobook. That, a dock, and adding swivel to the screen.
