Technorati Authority: UMPC related sites

Recently I've been paying more attention to the amount of coverage that UMPCs have been getting. On Friday I looked at the number of pages returned by a google search for UMPC which said "about 11,600,000" Running the search on Monday yielded "about 12,900,000" and running it again today yielded "about 13,600,000" Yes, I do realize that these are approximations from Google. But it's interesting to think that it's growing that fast. To put us UMPC lovers into place, a search for ipod returns 281,000,000 which means we've got a long ways to go.

What does that have to do with the chart above? Well, the chart above is a selection of 20 websites that touch on UMPCs. It's not an all inclusive list, it's just a way for me to wrap my head around where everyone stands as far reach is concerned. Having a high Technorati Authority doesn't necessarily mean you are getting more traffic, but it is a pretty good way to compare how popular your articles are. This chart makes it painfully obvious I need to work on creating more of my own content. As for the rest of the sites, I think the pure UMPC websites, like Ultra Mobile Geek and UMPC Portal have made an excellent start and we'll continue to see them grow as the UMPC market matures. We've got a great outlet for exposure with huge sites like Engadget and Gizmodo covering UMPC news while the other more specialized sites cover the more interesting stories in depth. So all you UMPC bloggers out there, keep up the great work!
