I've just uploaded a set of images of the Gigabyte M704 UMPC that was launched at CeBIT 2008. This is the 2nd VIA based UMPC that features a 1024x600 native resolution. It's also got a very nice sliding QWERTY keyboard, a multi-card reader, 2 USB ports and VGA-out. All of that at just 768 grams. This is one UMPC you're going to want to keep your eyes on.

And according to the officual specs on Gigabyte's website it still has the soldered, non-upgradable 768MB RAM - plain stupid for a UMPS supposed to run Vista!
Other than that, it is a solid improvement over the old U60

When will this UMPC be on market ?
I am a Taiwanese student in U.S. I have no idea whether I should go back to pick up one or wait until its on US market.

Why won't they instead wait for VIA Isaiah?

Actually, very few minor improvments of the u60. Slightly bigger screen - bigger hdd - slightly better camera. CPU and memory, chipset and so on is the same as on u60 AND IT'S EXPECTED TO RUN VISTA! You're better off buying a U60, it's practically the same spec and it's cheaper! Jamie UK
