Sleep State Patch for Windows XP

Microsoft has announced a patch (dated May 17th, 2006) for a sleep state fix for the USB 2.0 drivers. While I don't have confirmation that this is indeed the fix everyone has been waiting for, it certainly sounds like a good fix for UMPC users everywhere.

Give it a try and report back what you find!

HardOCP Consumer Edition gets their hands on a VIA-based UMPC and shares the experience with us:

The sample I received did just about everything I wanted it to. It played back music, videos, and acted like a grownup PC when I needed it to. It was well designed and small, and the touchscreen had excellent clarity and functionality. The various ways of navigating the system and inputting text or commands are intuitive and easy to use. This definitely isn??t your kid??s ??texting? on a mobile phone.

Sony LF-X5

I was looking at 7" LCD screens to see what the raw cost would be when I ran into this odd device. The Sony LF-XS a 7" LCD TV which has been for sale since September of 2004. Talk about a product ahead of its time. It looks like a combination between a slingbox and a UMPC. I'm curious what the battery life is like on the handheld.

TabletKiosk eo Recall

In case you haven't noticed, TabletKiosk has issued a recall for the first batch of eo's that it shipped due to a hardware problem causing poor battery life. TabletKiosk will cover the entire cost of shipping to and from their office and will perform the necessary hardware operation without the need to modify any information on your drive.

It really sounds like a painless procedure although it will be difficult for the proud new eo parents to be apart from their new babies for a few days. I suppose I should consider sending mine in as well... Oh! Such a dilemma!
