DavidW, A user over on the UMPC Portal forums, has seen the Packard Bell EasyNote XS UMPC in a Dixons store in Holland. He's gotten to play with the device in the store and had some very positive things to say about it. The most exciting part is that Dixons in Holland is selling it for the 599€ price in the Packard Bell press release. This is great news for Europeans, but the latest move by Packard Bell UK may leave our British brethren eyeing ferry tickets to the Netherlands. It looks like people are now able to
order the EasyNote XS online or check it out in stores. Keep your eyes out at other Dixons around Europe for more EasyNote XS excitement.

Think about all the time your car sits parked somewhere. What if you could use your car to go anywhere? Down to the other end of your office, in the elevator, to the bathroom, etc. I know that car and PC comparisons often fall flat, but I just couldn't resist this one. The P50 truly does highlight some of the great benefits we can get from improving mobility of our every day devices. Although, it does look rather silly. | | Click to Comment | Comments [ 0 ] |

Great news for Americans looking to get their hands on a UREN V1, the UMPC designed to be used in your car. Jensen has just announced the NVX3000PC "Anywhere" UMPC which features GPS navigation, a 7" 800x480 touchscreen, a 30GB hard drive, and 256MB of RAM. This UMPC will come with a car mount kit, remote control, and a ton of more features making this the first UMPC in the US market to specifically go after the automobile market. I've had my hands on this UMPC and it's a very solid device, I can't wait to see how well it does in the US market. | | Click to Comment | Comments [ 1 ] |

PC World has lowered their price for the Packard Bell EasyNote XS to £499 after several days of confusion caused by their website listing the Packard Bell EasyNote XS at £599 while the official press release from Packard Bell stated that prices would start at £349. Tony Holden, a British blogger, got the ball rolling on this pricing mixup and received this response from PC World indicating that the £599 price was correct. While at the same time, Pocket Lint writer, Amy-Mae Elliott, got a response from PC World indicating that the £599 price was a mistake and that it's supposed to be £499 while declining to comment on the discrepancy between PC World's price and Packard Bell's price.
With contradictory messages from PC World and no public comment from either Packard Bell or PC World customers are left wondering just what is the real price for this UMPC. Is it £349 or £499? My own e-mail queries to PC World have gone unanswered. I hope we can get an official response soon. | | Click to Comment | Comments [ 4 ] |
