I managed to snag one minute alone in a storage room with the MTube this afternoon. This thing is so small, I can't believe it's a full PC with a 1.0GHz processor. It just blows my mind having such a small device in my hands. Looking back over my video, the thing is so small that it makes my hands look rather large. I don't mind, the thing is going to be a blast to play with when it comes out. I had no idea this morning when I woke up that I'd be holding a computer of the future in my hands today.
More videos to come, sorry about all the delays, but I'm still trying to recover from this really bad sore throat. Stay tuned! | | Click to Comment | Comments [ 4 ] |

I'm back from another bout with tonsillitis, I didn't finish up my antibiotics last time and it came back to bite me. I promise, this time I'll be good and eat them all! In my fevered daze, I missed posting this VIA Mobile-ITX video from EPIA Center. If you recall in their previous video of the VIA NanoBook I mentioned that the VIA Mobile-ITX prototype could be seen sitting on the table. Well, in this video they get up close and personal with that prototype and the tiny motherboard that it's based on. The entire system board including the CPU, chipset, RAM, and connectors is smaller than a business card.
UMPCPortal has done a size comparison between Intel's gigantic Menlow prototype, Apple's iPhone, and VIA's Mobile-ITX motherboard and the results are quite shocking. The Menlow prototype is a whopping three times larger than the Mobile-ITX board. You could put two Mobile-ITX based PCs inside of the Menlow device and still have a lot of room for a big battery. | | Click to Comment | Comments [ 0 ] |

Rob Bushway is back with the full scoop on the AMtek T770 UMPC in his latest InkShow. It looks like he was thoroughly impressed with this device, check out what he had to say:
I've seen a lot of Ultra-Mobile PCs here at GottaBeMobile.com, but I have yet to see a UMPC perform as snappy as the Amtek T770. With its good performance, configurable buttons, and well designed track stick / mouse buttons, the T770 should make the short list of anyone looking for a UMPC.
The T770 is a second generation UMPC and I think it's a very solid improvement over their first generation, the T700. Check out the InkShow to see just how great this UMPC is. | | Click to Comment | Comments [ 0 ] |

I just ran into this video of the VIA NanoBook shot by the team over at EPIA Center. It looks like they were at the Embedded Systems Conference in Boston and had a few UMPCs along for the ride. Protip: You can see VIA's Mobile-ITX prototype on the table to the left of the NanoBook. | | Click to Comment | Comments [ 0 ] |

ThoughtFix is at it again with his mad DIY skills. This time hes cooked up a car mount for not one or two, but three ultra mobile devices: his Nokia N95, Nokia N800, & Apple iPod Touch. Yeah, I was a little disappointed that his faithful TabletKiosk eo UMPC v7110 wasn't part of this experiment, but it's still a sweet project. The thing that really blew my mind was the BlueTooth device that pulled data from his car so that he could show RPM, speed, & other info on his Nokia N800. It makes me miss my car! | | Click to Comment | Comments [ 0 ] |
