Last week I mentioned gOS a few times and now we've got this video interview with David Liu from gOS. He talks a bit about the creation of gOS and the direction that gOS is taking. The interview ends with a great quote:

We want to see people begin to use online applications as an alternative to traditional software on the desktop.

gOS is a version of Ubuntu with the Enlightenment windows manager with a focus on online applications, primarily Google Apps like Google Docs and GMail. It is the operating system found on low-cost UMPCs, notebooks, and desktop PCs from Everex that are sold at Wal-Mart. The CloudBook which is going to be in stores this weekend runs gOS and comes in at only $399.
