I'm back from another bout with tonsillitis, I didn't finish up my antibiotics last time and it came back to bite me. I promise, this time I'll be good and eat them all! In my fevered daze, I missed posting this VIA Mobile-ITX video from EPIA Center. If you recall in their previous video of the VIA NanoBook I mentioned that the VIA Mobile-ITX prototype could be seen sitting on the table. Well, in this video they get up close and personal with that prototype and the tiny motherboard that it's based on. The entire system board including the CPU, chipset, RAM, and connectors is smaller than a business card.
UMPCPortal has done a size comparison between Intel's gigantic Menlow prototype, Apple's iPhone, and VIA's Mobile-ITX motherboard and the results are quite shocking. The Menlow prototype is a whopping three times larger than the Mobile-ITX board. You could put two Mobile-ITX based PCs inside of the Menlow device and still have a lot of room for a big battery.
