VIDEO - Review of the CloudBook

NotebookReview.com has shot this quick video review of the CloudBook UMPC from Everex, featuring a 1.2 GHz VIA C7-M CPU, 512MB of RAM and a 30GB hard drive. Their overall impression of the device was positive, however they did express some dissatisfaction with the gOS operating system. They found boot times and application startup times to be rather long. Hopefully Everex is already aware of these issues and is working on continuing to tweak gOS for better performance and faster startup times.

Additionally, this week CeBIT is being held in Hannover, Germany and I'm expecting a lot of UMPC news to come from the showroom floor. On Friday, I saw a brand new UMPC from a Taiwanese manufacterer being hurriedly packed up and shipped off to CeBIT. I can't say which one yet, but stay tuned for pics and updates on new VIA based UMPCs as they are unveiled at CeBIT.
